Welcome to Global Warming
Over the past 100 years, the Earth has become about 0.74 °C warmer. Scientists in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) believe that this increase is largely caused by humans. There are many stories in the news about global warming and greenhouse gas emissions. A lot of attention has been focused on the Arctic because it is an area vulnerable to climate change.
By using animations and interactive exercises, students can learn about the greenhouse effect and how researchers use climate models to predict what the climate will be like in the future. They can also run a simple climate model and see what the climate will be like in the Arctic up until the year 2100.
